Sisters – Famous and Otherwise

From the Colorado sister

Half of our “famous” sister duo, Sisters At Heart Miles Apart, was privileged to hear a quilt lecture and show by half of another famous sister duo. None other than Patricia Knoechel, of Quilt in a Day’s duo with Eleanor Burns. Pat shared her version of their newest book, Tales of First Ladies by Eleanor Burns.

The helpful tips on using the fantastic rulers that Quilt in a Day makes was such good advice because it was always accompanied by having a quilt made that used her rulers & color suggestions. (Don’t you LOVE show and tell.)  Patricia uses her background as an art teacher to make complimentary color adaptations of the quilts pictured in so many of the books and patterns published through Quilt in a Day.

We enjoyed a very plentiful pot luck in the company of 50+ local quilters and some really good talk about “our sisters”.  Even some pictures of grand-kids were shown.  Thanks, Pat, for a fun and inspiring morning.  We can be Stitchin’ Sisters as we share the same patterns and tools, but only with Sisters At Heart, do you each get to keep the quilt through the Trading Hearts Plan.
